A one-day birding experience at Mabamba swamp, located by the shoreline of Lake Victoria is one of the most remarkable adventures a birder or a holidaymaker, with limited time or interest in birds can take. One gets to enjoy the cool breeze in the second largest freshwater lake in the world, and spotting some of the world's most sought bird species, notably the shoebill stock and the Sitatunga.

Detailed Tour

Day 1: Birding at Mabamba Bay wetland

Right at the agreed time and place, you will meet our experienced driver-guide who will meet and brief you about this one-day birder experience at Mabamba swamp, located by the shores of Lake victoria home to hundreds of rare bird species, inclusive of the sought after shoebill stork. From the agreed point, you will head to the harbor to get a boat that you will use for birding, through the guidance of an expert birder.

The ride to the bird's paradise offers amazing views of the airport, the cool breeze from the lake, and the captivating Entebbe landscape. Fishermen will be also doing what they do best, where all the attention is drawn to several bird species at the papyrus, and swamps, at the shoreline.

By the end of the trip, you should have spotted, and learned of numerous bird species in this haven notably; the shoebill stork that will welcome you to the open lagoon, jacanas, African pygmy goose, and the pied kingfisher among others. You will have a good taste of a delicious lunch meal, before summing the day with beautiful memories and trickling sounds. After spending over 9 hours here, you will return to the lodge for dinner and a nap.
