This 2 days trip to Mgahinga national park will grant you exposure to the popular mountain gorillas. Have a lifetime experience as you see them feed, play, and rest in the ever green thick forest of Mgahinga. The trip will start and end in Kigali, the city of Rwanda.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Depart Kigali to Mgahinga gorilla national park in

Have early breakfast at your hotel and prepare for a road transfer to Mgahinga national park, it is about 4 hour’s drive covering 131km through Cyanika border post. This is the smallest national park in Uganda with an area of 33.7sq. kilometers, located in the south western region of Uganda on Uganda’s border with Rwanda and D.R. Congo.
You will have a short briefing with a company guide about the details of the 2 days’ gorilla trip.  Arrive in time for lunch; check at the lodge where you will spend your evening as you wait for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Mgahinga national park: Gorilla trekking experience and return to Kigali.

Wake up early for breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for an ultimate gorilla experience. You will hike with packed lunch to the parks headquarters for a short briefing about conduct while trekking the largest primates. After be led by a local guide into the jungle to trek the mountain gorillas.

This national park has only one habituated gorilla family which you will have a one hour encounter exploring their jungle livelihood. After the trek you drive have another road transfer to Kigali for departure.
