Overview

It's nowhere, 10 days Rwanda Luxury safaris across all the hidden corners of the land with a thousand hills, gifted with plenty of flora and fauna, trusted security and classic accommodations. The trip covers all the different destinations you would ever wish to visit in Rwanda, with the mammals, primates and several attractions you have never imagined of.

Kigali city will be the first welcome; followed by Africa's big5 at Akagera national park; the laughter of the chimpanzees at Nyungwe national park; gentility of the mountain gorillas and charm of the golden monkeys at Volcanoes national park; and the quietness of the waters of Lake Kivu. Other destinations include the Musanze caves, Ibyiwachu village, and Nyanza museum among others

Safari Day by Day

Day1: Arrival and city tour

As the long-awaited day arrives, our company representative will happily pick you up from wherever you are, be it the airport or hotel. He will gladly explain the different issues in the itinerary respond to your questions and offer a glass of juice to quench off the thirst.

Thereafter, you will head for a rewarding city tour; around the local markets and the genocide memorial site and then proceed for relaxation, dinner, and a nap at your hotel in town.

Day 2: Kigali city to Akagera national park

Start your day with a mouth-watering breakfast meal. After which you will hit the road for a scenic drive to Akagera national park; home to a wide range of wildlife, notable Africa's Big5. You will traverse rolling Hills, and plantations all lined up for eyes to rest on. You will reach your lodge at the park early enough for lunch, followed by an amazing 3-4 hours’ evening game drive in the northern sector; looking out for prey and predators either going for night duty or returning to their territories to rest.

A few notables include; Rhinoceros, elephants, buffalos, lions, warthogs, and wild dogs among others. You will then return to the lodge to have a rest as well as dinner.

Day3: Morning game drive and evening boat cruise

A delicious cup of coffee comes first this day, followed by a rewarding 4-5-hour drive to the wilderness of Akagera in search of the different residents hunting, grazing, or resting in the savanna pastures. At a point of focus, several mammals notably zebras, numerous antelope species, giant elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, and bushbucks; Birds such as egrets, lovebirds, and eagles; plants, and reptiles among others get exposed.

Thereafter, lunch break comes in, followed by a rewarding afternoon boat cross in the vast Lake Ihema; home to crocodiles, Hippos, and a wide range of bird species. This day ends with dinner and overnight.

Day4: Transfer to Nyungwe national park- Nyanza stopover

The first thigh today is breakfast, followed by a 7-9 hours’ drive to another Paradise in Rwanda, one place where you come face to face with your cuisines; the Chimpanzees, Nyungwe national park. Interestingly, you will also have an enroute stopover for a cultural exhibition at Nyanza, then the other for lunch in a restaurant with one of the finest foods have never tasted. You will arrive at the lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day5: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk

After breakfast, you will head for a rewarding chimpanzee tracking escapade which starts early in the morning with a briefing session by the park rangers. They will verify your tracking documents, explain the dos and don'ts while with the primates and accompany you through the forest. Nyungwe forest is home to over 13 unique primate species, with chimpanzees dominating and co-existing with Columbus monkeys, baboons, vervet monkeys, and several others, not forgetting birds, and botany.

Chimpanzee tracking lasts for approximately 1-7 hours, plus one more hour of photography, questions, and watching them exhibit human characteristics while communicating, playing or even eating. When all these are done, the subject of lunch surfaces, followed by a relaxed afternoon on the treetops while enjoying a 2-3 hours’ canopy walk experience. Retire at the lodge with dinner and overnight

Day6: Depart Nyungwe for Volcanoes national park

At sunrise, you can have a simple nature walk followed by a tasty cup of Tea. Thereafter, you will check out of the lodge for a drive to Volcanoes national park; home to the sought after endangered mountain gorillas, the rare golden monkeys, and plenty of unique fauna species.

Nothing keeps you alert on this drive like the rolling hill, plantations, vibrant towns, and the smiles of local natives. You will have a stopover for lunch, and evening arrival at the park for dinner and a nap.

Day7: Gorilla trekking and cultural adventure

You will have to wake up very early in the morning for breakfast, and then a transfer to the park headquarters for a pre trekking briefing which commences at approximately 08:00hours for about 30 minutes.

One Gorilla family will be available for you to track, learn from, and take amazing photos of the mothers' breastfeeding; the captivating backs of the giant silverbacks and the active infants playing.  The entire adventure can last for about 1-8 hours and a maximum of one hour with Apes on finding them.

Thereafter, you will have lunch, followed by an active evening with the Rwandese at Ibyiwachu cultural village; enjoying the cultural village walks, dances, songs and dress code among others. You will return to the lodge for dinner and a nap.

Day8: Golden monkey trekking and Musanze caves

Early in the morning, there will be a heavy breakfast meal at the lodge, after which you will head to the park headquarters for registration and briefing. This will be another interesting day in the Jungle, not for Gorillas but one of the most beautiful, exciting, and unforgettable creatures in the wild; The golden monkeys.

Speed will be the command word upon finding them after a 1-6 hours’ hike, in case you will need to get clear photos and a nice view. Golden monkeys are so playful and shift from one tree to another, faster than a lazy eye can capture.

Upon carrying out a successful adventure, you will have a lunch break, and then go to Musanze caves to know more about this magical cave, explore, and take photos, before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day9: Transfer to Lake Kivu- relaxation

After an energy-giving cup of coffee, you will check out of the lodge and head for refreshment and relaxation at Rwanda's largest freshwater lake. Here, you will arrive at the time of Lunch, of which it will be followed by numerous activities such as swimming, nature walk, or horse ride. This day ends happily with dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day10: departure

After enjoying the cool breeze, breakfast, and anyone activity by the lake shores; you will checkout of the lodge for a transfer to the agreed drop of point; that can be at either the airport, your residence or hotel.
