Detailed safari.

Day 1: Kigali – Nyungwe forest. Tea plantations tour in the evening.

Morning airport / hotel pickup by our company representative or safari guide, have breakfast in Kigali city and proceed on the journey southwards to Nyungwe forest. Traverse through the breathtaking hills of Rwanda with views of lush forests, amazing rural homesteads and hospitable children waving “goodbye” by the road. Remember to carry some sweets and biscuits for these children!
Nyungwe forest is only 5 hours away from Kigali, and so be ready to arrive just in time for lunch after which you proceed on a tour to visit tea plantations, located just on the outskirts of Nyungwe forest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk in the evening.

Take a very early breakfast as you arrange for the highlight of the trip – chimpanzee trekking. Begin with briefing at 7:30am at the park ranger station. The briefing intends to inform trekkers about the do’s, don’ts and general regulations to observe during this memorable chimp trekking tour.

You will be led into the forest by one of the park rangers to explore this beautiful gem and a troop of chimpanzees. During one hour of interaction, you will ask every question you may have about these interesting primates; their lifestyles, family geneticcompositions, etc. Retire to the lodge after this adventure and have lunch.

In the afternoon, have an adventurous canopy walk where you have 360 degrees’ aerial view of the entire forest with its resident apes, mammals, butterflies and birds.

Retire from the forest back to the lodge for overnight stay and dinner.
